VOLUNTEERS FOR VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL
Looking for a volunteering challenge? Apply to be a “Key Volunteer” for this year’s Children’s Festival (May 27 – June 2).
Key Volunteers help recruit, interview and train Festival volunteers from PMSS. Key Volunteers must be available for a monthly Saturday meeting in Vancouver,
beginning Saturday December 8, with a minimum total commitment of 20 hours. More info in the Career Centre.
To apply, submit your resume and a cover letter explaining why you would make a good Key Volunteer to Ms Truax in the
Career Centre BEFORE NOVEMBER 23/2018.

MT. SEYMOUR SKI & SNOWBOARD VOLUNTEERING PROGRAM
Mt. Seymour is now recruiting high school students to assist the Ski & Snowboard School to run the children’s Learn to Ski and Ride programs.
In return for 60 hours of volunteering, participants receive a free staff season’s pass and may be offered a FREE high school ski instructor practicum program,
with credits recognized by the Ministry of Education. Must be 15 years old for this Level 1 Ski Instructor Course.

ONLINE/DISTANCE LEARNING COURSES, POST-SECONDARY ADMISSIONS – NEW DEADLINES FOR COMPLETION
Students taking online courses or planning to do so should be aware of the new deadlines for course completion for UBC and SFU:
• For UBC, if you wish to use an online course to calculate your competitive admission average, you must complete it by February 1.
If you wish to use it to meet degree-specific admission requirements, you must complete it by June 30.
• For SFU, grades for online courses may be used for admission; however, the course must be 100%
complete by January 31.
